Date: Friday, Saturday & Sunday,  November 7, 8 & 9 2003.

 

Time:   Morning session;  Warm-up 7:00 a.m., Meet start 8:30 a.m.  (10 & under and 11‑12 )

            Afternoon session;  Warm-up 12:45 p.m.,  Meet start 2:00 p.m.(open)

Friday afternoon session; Warm-up 4:00 p.m. , Meet start 5:15 p.m.    

 

Facilities:  East Providence High School, 25 yard 6 lane pool, semi-automatic timing . Ample parking and bleacher seating for spectators.  Under N.E. and USS Swimming rule, shaving anywhere in the pool facility WILL BE PROHIBITED AND STRICTLY ENFORCED!!!

 

Entry Information:  Entry forms must be completed and returned by Friday, October 24,  2003.  NT will not be accepted for a "time", swimmers may swim in 5 events per day. We will be using Hy-Tek software to run the meet so you can send a disk (Hy-Tek) or regular entry, in yard time, and e-mail to rmooney469@aol.com or US mail with your entry form and check to:

Entry Fees:  $3.50 per individual event, Entry fees must accompany all entries (e-mail entries must send check within 5 working days of e-mail entry) and are not refundable unless meet is over subscribed.  Hand entries are $4.00 ea..

 

Procedure For Cutting Meet:  Entry cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of receipt.  Teams will be notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven days of receipt of entry.  If the meet becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on the date the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with New England Swimming guidelines.  Teams that are cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of being cut.  Entry forms must be accurate, legible and complete.  Entries cannot be changed after they have been submitted.  Telephone entries will not be accepted. Teams will notified of cuts by October 30, 2002.

 

Format:  This is a Specialty meet  and will include 8 & under, 9-10, 11 & 12, and open (senior) age groups.  A bull pen will be used (12 & Unders) with deck seeding based on entry times.  All events are timed finals. 

 

Admission:  $1.00 per session.  Programs $2.00 per session.

           

Refreshments:  Full concession for breakfast & lunch will be provided for all sessions.

 

Awards:  Ribbons will be awarded to the top 6 male & female swimmers in each event for 12 & unders only.

 


Directions:

Heading west on I-195, take Exit 1 in MASS.  At end of exit, turn right.  Go to 1st light and take a left.  At the next light, bare right onto Waterman Avenue.  Go to the next light and turn right onto Pawtucket Avenue. East Providence High School will be on your right, take 1st entrance after catwalk. (less than 1/4 mile).   

Heading east on I-195,  Take I-195 East off I-95 north or south, go to exit  6 (Broadway Avenue exit), turn left at end of exit ramp. Go to 1st light and turn left onto Pawtucket Avenue.  At the next light go straight, East Providence High School will be on your right (less than 1/4 mile after this light) take the 1st entrance after catwalk.

 

Eligibility:  All swimmers must be 2003-2004 USA registered athletes.  New England swimmers may register (for USA) with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Road, Needham, MA.  02492.

 

Rules:   2002-2003 USA Swimming Rules will govern all competition and decisions by the meet referee will be final.  A written protest may be lodged provided that it is presented within 30 minutes of the heat being protested. Disabled swimmer forms are required by US Swimming and are available from the New England Swimming Office.

 

Special Instructions:  There will be ABSOLUTELY no diving in any part of the pool during warm‑ups, except in specially designated sprint lanes. 1000 & 1650 swimmers MUST provide own timers & lap counter!

 

Officials:  Clubs that have certified officials who would like to officiate should contact the meet director.

 

Timers:  Please instruct your parents that wish to time at the meet to report to the meet director upon arrival.  THANK YOU in advance for your help in this area!!!
