FACILITY:  White Brook Middle School, 200 Park St., Easthampton, MA  has a six lane, 25 yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines.  Electronic timing will be used.  Seating is limited, approx. 300.   All events will be announced. Parking is ample and free.

 

ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries will be accepted beginning December 20th, 2003 and must be completed and received by 5:00 p.m. January 10th, 2004.  Entries received before December 20th, 2003 will be considered received on December 20th, 2003. Entries must be e-mailed, or on IBM compatible computer disk (Hy-Tek).  Mail completed forms (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry chairperson : Cheryl Fletcher, 22 Gunn Road, Southampton, MA 01073. For those teams without computer capabilities, entries may be submitted with the enclosed N.E. Standard Entry Form. With the electronic entries, payment, hard copy, and the signed release form must be received within four days of the date of your e-mail. If the check does not arrive within the required time, the date your check arrives becomes the date of entry. The team entry must be submitted in a standard meet entry file format, either .cl2 or .sd3. Please also ensure that your entry file is sent virus free. There will be no refunds.

 

ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter and swim in a maximum of 5 events per day.

 

ENTRY TIME UPDATES: Entry times may be updated through January 17th, 2004. No changes will be made after January 17, 2004.  

 

ENTRY FEES: $3.50  per event, (electronic entries, e-mail or disk) or $4.00 for hand entries. Checks should be payable to "Easthampton Barracudas Swim Team"

 

ELIGIBILITY: All swimmers must be 2004 registered swimmers with U.S. Swimming.  Registration numbers and ages must appear on the entry sheet.  New England swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Road, Needham, MA, 02492, (781) 449-0270, office@neswim.com.

 

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $5.00 per event. Sanction number for Time Trials is NE-04-13A.

 

SEEDING: All entries must include the best short course time that the swimmer has achieved.  If a swimmer is entering an event for the first time, please submit a Coach's best judgement time instead of a "NT".  Swimmers will be seeded with their times entered into the meet with, but will score according to their Final Time.  (ex.: a swimmer entered with a B time finishes with an A time will be scored with the A swimmers, likewise, if he/she finishes with a C time will be scored with the C swimmers)

 

TIMERS:  Each team entering a swimmer in the 500 Free events must supply their own counter and timers for each of their swimmers, and in the 400 IM events must supply their own timers.

 

PROCEDURE FOR CUTS: In case of over-subscription, the meet will be cut by date the entry is received in order to insure a four hour limit for each session.  Per N.E. Swim policy, a lottery will be conducted if the meet is oversubscribed.

 

AWARDS: Ribbons for the top six "A", "B", "C" finalists.  If a swimmer enters the meet with a "B" time and finishes with an "A" time, that swimmer will be placed into the "A" meet and scored accordingly.  If that same swimmer finishes with a "C" time he will move into the "C" meet and score accordingly. Please do not enter swimmers with a NT - coach's best judgement should be entered.

 

ADMISSION: $1.00  per session

 

PROGRAMS:  $2.00 per session

 

REFRESHMENTS: A complete snack/lunch bar will be provided.

 

EQUIPMENT VENDOR: A swimming equipment vendor will be selling suits, goggles, and other accessories for the duration of the meet.

 

DIRECTIONS: From the north or south, take Rte. 91 to exit 17B.  At the end of the exit take right onto Rte. 141.  Follow Rte. 141 over the mountain to the first set of lights.  Go straight through onto Payson Ave..  Follow to the end and turn left onto Park St.. Approx. 1 mile down Park St., on the left, is White Brook Middle School.  It is set back from the road.  No parking in front of the building, please park in the lots to either side of the building.

 

FORMAT: All events will be timed finals.

 

RULES: 2004 US Swimming Rules will govern all competition and decisions by the referee will be final, unless a written protest is lodged within thirty minutes of the heat being protested. Absolutely, NO DIVING, will be allowed during warm-ups except in designated sprint lanes when announced.    THERE WILL BE NO SHAVING AT ANY NEW ENGLAND CALENDAR MEET OR ANY OTHER COMPETITION RECEIVING A NEW ENGLAND SWIMMING SANCTION.  THIS INCLUDES NO SHAVING IN THE SHOWERS OR ELSEWHERE ON THE SWIMMING VENUE.
