MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed-finals. Each session will be seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each session. Coaches will receive a positive check-in sheet before the session, which must be returned no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session. Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck. Coaches will be able to pick up heat sheets for each event at the control office. The 1500m freestyle will be swum fast-to-slow, alternating heats of women and men.
SITE: The
Greenwood Memorial Pool is an 8-lane, 25-meter outdoor pool with 7-foot-wide
lanes and non-turbulent lane lines. A separate section of the pool is reserved
for warm-up and warm-down. Spectator seating is available around the pool. Bring
your own lawn chairs. The pool is located outdoors at the Greenwood Memorial
Pool Complex,
TIMERS and OFFICIALS: Timing will be semi-automatic, with push-button finish, and electronic single-line scoreboard. Two volunteer back-up timers and one volunteer official for each session are requested from each team. The Entries Contact person is requested to send the names of the officials to the Meet Director, seven clear days ahead of the Meet, i.e. by Friday, June 4, 2004.
COURSE: Short course meters (25 meters).

ELIGIBILITY: All
contestants must be 2004 USA Swimming registered athletes. All swimmers must be
registered before the entry is submitted. Teams that enter unregistered
swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per unregistered swimmer. Please contact the New England Swimming Office

ENTRY INFORMATION:
Entries will be accepted from Friday, April 23, 2004. Entries received before then will be
considered received on that day. Entries
must be received no later than Friday, June 4, 2004. Make checks payable to “Greenwood Memorial
Swim Club”. Mail completed forms
(including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chairperson at johnsonjebk@aol.com or EJgmsc04@aol.com . Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. For email entries, payment and hardcopy of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be received within four (4) days of receipt of the email entry. If payment is received within four (4) days of the email entry, the email receipt date will be considered the date of entry. If payment is received more than four (4) days after the email entry, the payment receipt date will be considered the date of entry.
ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter and swim in a maximum of 5 individual events per day. There is no limit to their number of relays.
ENTRY TIME UPATES: Entry times may be updated through Friday, June 4, 2004 at 6:00pm. No new entries will be accepted after that date. Entry time updates should be sent via email to the entry chairperson at johnsonjebk@aol.com or EJgmsc04@aol.com . Entry time updates must be sent as Hy-Tek format CL2 files with updated times. (New entries will be automatically excluded.)
ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $3.50 for individual events, $10.00 for relays. Non-electronic entries: $4.00 for individual events, $10.50 for relays.
ENTRY TIMES: Entries may be specified in short-course meter (SCM: 25-meter pool), long-course meter (LCM), or short-course yard (SCY) times. LCM and SCY times will be automatically converted by Meet Manager to SCM times. Entries with “NO TIME” will be accepted.
ENTRY CUTS: Entry cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of receipt. Teams will be notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven days of receipt of entry. If the meet becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on the date that the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with New England Swimming guidelines. However, cuts in the 13&O 500 Free, 800 Free, and 1500 Free, and 400 IM events will be based on age. Teams that are cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of being cut.
RELAYS: All relay swimmers must be officially entered in the Meet.
25-METER EVENTS: 25-meter events will start at the turn-end of the pool. As there are no starting blocks at the turn-end, swimmers will dive in from the deck.
PROGRAMS: $4.00 for the morning session (both days) and $4.00 for the afternoon session (both days).
ADMISSION: $1.00 per adult (non-swimmer over 14 years).
WARMUPS: The pool will open for warm-ups one-hour before the beginning of each session, and for 20 minutes before the 800 and 1500 events. Teams will be assigned warm-up lanes after all entries are received. A warm-up schedule will be provided to the Deck Coach of each team. A separate section of the pool will be available during the Meet for warm-up and warm-down.
SAFETY:
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Swimmers are to abide by the directions of the marshals. All swimmers must enter the pool at the starting end of the pool. No jumping into the pool is permitted at any time during the Meet.
RULES: 2004 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition. Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.
TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the Meet Referee if time allows at the end of each session. Time trials are $5.00 for individual events and $10.00 for relays.
DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck. All non-athletes on the pool deck must display their USA Swimming registration card at all times. Individuals without their USA Swimming registration card will be removed from the pool deck, and will be subject to a fine by New England Swimming.
SCORING: The meet will not be scored.
AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top eight finishers in each individual event, and the top three finishers in each relay event.
FOOD: A full concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet.
EQUIPMENT VENDOR: A swimming equipment vendor will be selling suits, goggles, and other accessories for the duration of the meet.
