MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as timed finals.  Coaches will receive a scratch sheet for the session in their coach's packet.  Coaches must indicate scratches on these sheets and return them to the bullpen no later than 30 minutes before the beginning of each session.  

Coaches, please carefully review the remaining information contained in the coach's packet.  A psych sheet will be posted online at www.anahurricanes.com by Monday June 7, please check the psych sheet for any error and contact the entry chair to make corrections.  Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck.  Coaches will be able to pick up heat sheets for each event at the timing console. 

SITE:  University of Connecticut, Wolff-Zakin Natatorium, Storrs, CT.  Six 50-meter lanes with non-turbulent lane lines.  The pool is equipped with a Colorado Timing System, touch pads and an electronic scoreboard.

COURSE: Long course meters (50 meters).

ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be 2004 USA Swimming registered athletes.  Please contact the New England Swimming Office for registration information. New England Swimming Office: 20 Cleveland Road, Needham MA 02492, 781-449-0270, office@neswim.com.

ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries will be accepted on and after May 1, 2004.  Entries received before May 1, 2004 will be considered received on May 1, 2004.  Entries must be received no later than June 1, 2004.  Make checks payable to “Andover / North Andover YMCA Hurricanes”.  Mail completed forms (including signed entry, cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry chairperson: Paul Bennett 165 Haverhill Street, Andover, MA 01810.  All entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from USA Swimming registration.  All entries must include a completed and signed entry cover sheet and waiver.  No deck entries will be accepted.  No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper entry.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such as from Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chairperson at pbennett@mvymca.org Please check that your team name, address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file.  For email entries, payment and hardcopy of the entry (including signed entry, cover page and waiver) must be received within four (4) days of receipt of the email entry.  If payment is received within four (4) days of the email entry, the email receipt date will be considered the date of entry.  If payment is received more than four (4) days after the email entry, the payment receipt date will be considered the date of entry.

ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter a maximum of 5 events per session, with the exception of Friday night when they may enter a maximum of one event per session..

ENTRY TIME UPATES: Entry times may be updated through June 1, 2004.  No new entries will be accepted after the entry deadline.  Entry time updates should be sent via email to the entry chairperson at pbennett@mvymca.org.  Entry time updates must be sent as Hy-Tek format CL2 files with updated times.  (New entries will be automatically excluded.)

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $3.00 for individual events.  Non-electronic entries: $4.00 for individual events.  Distance events (400 IM, and 400) are $5.00.

ENTRY TIMES: All entries must be specified in long-course meter (50 meter pool) times.  Yard times must be converted to meter times.  Entries with “NO TIME” will be rejected.

ENTRY CUTS: Entry cuts, if necessary, will be made by the date of receipt.  Teams will be notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven days of receipt of entry.  If the meet becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on the date the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with Conneticutt Swimming guidelines.  Teams that are cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of being cut.  The 400, freestyle and the 400 meter IM will be cut by time, if necessary, to meet the four-hour time rule.

PROGRAMS: $5.00 per session.

TIMERS: Teams will have timing assignments based upon the number of entries and number of officials supplied.

ADMISSION: There is no admission charge for this meet.

WARMUPS: The pool will open for warm-ups one-hour before the beginning of each session.  The pool will close five minutes before the beginning of each session.  Teams will be assigned warm-up lanes after all entries are received.

SHAVING: No shaving is permitted at the competition site.

RULES: 2004 USA Swimming rules will govern all competition.  Decisions by the meet referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the heat swum.

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at the discretion of the meet referee after the session on Saturday Afternoon, and after the conclusion of the other sessions if time allows.  Time trials are $7.00.

DECK ACCSS: Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck.  All non-athletes on the pool deck must display their USA Swimming registration card at all times.  Individuals without their USA Swimming registration card will be removed from the pool deck, and will be subject to a fine by New England Swimming.

SCORING: The meet will be scored through 18 places as follows – 20,17,16,15,14,13,12,11,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1

AWARDS: Plaques will be awarded for rankings 1 – 18 in the following age groups 10 and Under, 11-12, 13-14, and Open.  Individual event awards will not be presented.  No team awards will be given.

FOOD: A concession stand will be in operation for the duration of the meet.

EQUIPMENT VENDOR: A swimming equipment vendor will be selling suits, goggles, and other accessories for the duration of the meet.

MISCELLANEOUS: Andover North Andover YMCA assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen property.  No glass containers are permitted within the facility.  Pets of any kind and smoking are permitted within the facility.

PARKING: There is ample parking available in the parking garage adjacent to the Wolff Zakin Natatorium.

DIRECTIONS:  Take Mass Pike to I-84 West.  From I-84 take Exit 68 onto Route 195.  Follow Rt. 195 East approximately seven miles to University campus.  Take a right onto the campus on to N. Eagleville.  Follow approximately 1/2 mile to first light.  Take left onto Hillcrest.  Pool is approximately one mile on your right next to the basketball arena.  Do not park on the street in front of the pool facility.  You will be towed.
