Facility:

The Mayers Natatorium Pool, Seekonk High School is located in Seekonk, MA. The Mayers Natatorium is a six- (6) lane pool with non-turbulent lane lines with a diving well attached, Colorado Timing System, seating for 300 spectators and deck seating for 300 swimmers. There is No Smoking on the school grounds. Handicap seating is available. Failure to abide by rules defined in this notice, posted at the facility or determined by the Meet Referee or Meet Director may result in ejection from the facility. Only those with proper credentials will be allowed on deck.

 

Format:

All events will be seeded during warm-ups and swum as timed finals. Heat and lane assignments will be posted after scratches are entered. Copies of heat and lane assignments will be given to coaches and posted at both ends of the pool. Swimmers should report directly to the blocks for their events. Coaches are responsible for ensuring their swimmers are in the correct heat and lane. All 25 yard events will start from the starting blocks.

 

Eligibility:

All swimmers must be 2002 or 2003  registered swimmers with New England Swimming. Swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Rd., Needham, MA 02492. Age eligibility is determined by the age of the swimmer on the first day of the meet and must be shown on the entry from. All coaches on deck must be registered with USA Swimming and present their coach’s membership cards.

 

Entry Information:

Entries will be accepted from October 7, 2002 through November 14, 2002. Any entry received prior to October 7 will be considered to have been received on October 7. Email entries with standard SD3 or CL2 data file of your team’s entries attached are encouraged, provided a hardcopy of the entry with a signed entry cover form and payment of the meet fees arrives within 4 business days of email receipt. Email initial entries to rernst@xrin.com. You may also send a diskette with a standard SD3 or CL2 data file of your team’s entry. United States Postal Service Overnight Mail is the preferred mailing method. If Overnight Mail is used, indicate that the package be delivered even if no one is there to sign for it. Regular mail is also acceptable provided the hardcopy of the entry and payment arrive on or before Friday, November 14, 2002.

 

Procedure for cutting meet:

In the event that the meet is oversubscribed by the end of the first day on which the entries are accepted, a lottery to select the teams which will be accepted into the meet will be conducted.  The same procedure will apply in the event that multiple entries are received on any day after the first day that put the meet over its limit.  Otherwise, all entries are accepted by date of receipt. In the event that a meet is oversubscribed on the first day of acceptance of entries, non-New England teams (if any) will be cut before the lottery is conducted. The meet director reserves the right to limit the number of heats of distance events on Friday night in order to comply with the 4 hour session limit.

 

Scratches:

Coaches must scratch swimmers within 45 minutes of the start of the session

 

Fees:

$3.50 per individual event for electronic entries. $4.00 per individual event for hand entries.

Only one check per team will be accepted and should be made payable to Seekonk Pool Association

Rules:

2002 USA Swimming rules will govern except as otherwise stated herein and the decision of the referee will be final, unless a written protest is lodged within 30 minutes of the swim heat being protested. Disabled swimmer forms are required by USA Swimming and are available from the New England Swimming Office.

 

Officials:

Please include with your entry a list of your team’s eligible officials, their phone numbers, and the session(s) they are willing to work. The referee for the meet will be David Saunders. Awards:

Ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 6th place

Heat winner awards will also be presented

 

Admission:

Admission           $1.00 per session

Meet Programs   $5.00 for the entire weekend

 

Concession/Vendor

Food and merchandise will be for sale throughout the meet

 

Safety

All teams and individual warm-up and warm down shall be under the direct supervision of the respective swimmers’ coach, or individual designated by the referee. Any swimmer participating in the meet without a USA Swimming registered coach shall report to the referee before warm-ups prior to each session. Diving will be prohibited during warm-ups with the exception of the sprint lanes when they are announced. There will be no shaving at any venue of this meet including showers, locker rooms, pool deck, or bleachers. Glass containers are prohibited on the pool deck and in the bleachers and locker rooms.

 

Parking:

Parking is free and available at the school parking lot.

 

Directions:

From South of Providence  take Rt. 95 North to Rt. 195 East proceed on 195 East to Exit 7 (Rt. 6 Seekonk / Rt. 114 Barrington). Take the Rt. 6 East Seekonk off ramp. Proceed to the second traffic light and turn Left. Again proceed to the second traffic light and turn Left. You will reach a fork in the road stay straight (do not bear left onto 114) You should have the Grist Mill Restaurant and a golf course on your left side as you proceed. Continue to the next traffic light, proceed straight through that light and continue for approx. ˝ mile and the school will be on your left. The pool entrance is located adjacent to the main entrance. Parking is available anywhere in the school lot.

 

From North of Providence  take Rt. 95 South to Rt. 195 East proceed on 195 East to Exit 7 (Rt. 6 Seekonk / Rt. 114 Barrington). Take the Rt. 6 East Seekonk off ramp. Proceed to the second traffic light and turn Left. Again proceed to the second traffic light and turn Left. From the East take Rt. 195 West to Exit 1 in Massachusetts (Rt. 114A Seekonk ). Take exit 1 and turn right at the top of the ramp onto Rt. 114A North. Stay straight, pass through 1 traffic light, you will  reach a fork in the road stay straight (do not bear left onto 114) You should have the Grist Mill Restaurant and a golf course on your left side as you proceed. Continue to the next traffic light, proceed straight through that light and continue for approx. ˝ mile and the school will be on your left. The pool entrance is located adjacent to the main entrance. Parking is available anywhere in the school lot.
