Teams will be assigned warm-up times and lanes once all entries are received.

FACILITY

The Pool is located in the Haas Athletic Center of Wheaton College in Norton, MA.  The Balfour Natatorium is an eight-lane 25-yard pool.  Pool depth is a minimum 11 feet at the starting end of the pool and 9 feet at the turn.  Wave-reduction lines separate Lanes.  Timing and results displays are accomplished by Colorado® Timing.  Spectator capacity is 350.  A movable bulkhead divides the Balfour Natatorium; the 20-yard by 15-yard area will be available as a separate warm-up and warm-down area for swimmers.

Swimmers and spectators are not allowed in any other area of the athletic facilities including gymnasiums, weight rooms and training areas.  Glass is not permitted in the bleachers, deck or locker rooms.  Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building.

FORMAT

All events will be seeded during warm-ups and swum as timed finals.  Heat and lane assignments will be posted after scratches are entered.  Copies of heat and lane assignments will be given to coaches. All 12 and under swimmers should report to the bullpen before their event.  Swimmers 13 and over should report directly to the blocks for their events.  Coaches are responsible for ensuring their swimmers are in the correct heat and lane.

All heats of the 1650 Freestyle will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls and boys if possible but combining girls and boys if that requires fewer heats.  Open swimmers and 13-14 year old swimmers will be combined into heats for efficiency if deemed necessary by meet management.

ELIGIBILITY

All swimmers must be 2003 registered swimmers with New England Swimming.  Swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Rd., Needham, MA 02492.  Age eligibility is determined by the age of the swimmer the first day of the meet and must be shown on the entry form.  All coaches on deck must be registered with USA Swimming and present their coach membership cards.

ENTRY INFORMATION

No swimmer may enter more than nine individual events or swim more than five individual events per day.  Swimmers must enter an individual event to be able to participate in a relay.  Relay only swimmers are not allowed.  Relays are age specific.  Swimmers may not age up for a relay.  Relay entries are limited to two teams per event per club.

Entries must be received by Tuesday, February 25, 2003.  Entries earlier than that will be greatly appreciated.  Electronic entries, whether by email or on computer disk are appreciated and are less expensive (according to NES policy).  Please submit an .sd3 file (LSA Team) or .cl2 (Hy-Tek Team Manager) file.  Seed cards are not required.

Email Entries: Attach the .cl2 or .sd3 file to the email message.  A zipped version of the entry tends to work better than just attaching the regular entry file.  If sending entries via email, the entry fees and a paper copy of the entry, along with the entry cover sheet must be received by Saturday, March 1.

Other Entries: United States Postal Service Overnight Mail is the preferred paper mailing method.  If Overnight Mail is used, indicate that the package be delivered even if no one is there to sign for it.  No fax entries will be accepted.  All fees must accompany the entry.

Entry times must be achieved between September 1, 2002 and February 25, 2003.  Times achieved in a 25-meter pool must be multiplied by .9049 to convert to yards.

SCRATCHES

Coaches must scratch swimmers by the end of the first 30 minutes of each warm-up session.

FEES
