Teams will be assigned warm-up times and lanes once all entries are received.

FACILITY

Karl B. Michael Pool is located in the Alumni Gym building of Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.  The Michael Pool is a six lane 25 yard pool.  Pool depth is a minimum 4’1” at the starting end of the pool.  Lanes are separated by wave-reduction lines.  Timing and results displays are accomplished by Colorado® Timing.  Spectator capacity is 1,500.  The Spaulding Pool, a 25 yard, 4 lane pool, is adjacent to the Michael Pool and is available as a separate warm-up and warm-down area for swimmers.

Swimmers and spectators are not allowed in any other of the athletic facilities including gymnasiums, weight rooms and training areas.  Glass is not permitted in the bleachers, deck or locker rooms.  Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building.

25 YARD EVENTS

Swimmers will start off the blocks for 25 yard events.  Swimmers #2 and #4 of 100 yard relays events will start off the pool edge at the far end of the pool.  Automatic timing will be used for the finish of all events.

FORMAT

All events will be seeded during warm-ups and swum as timed finals.  Heat and lane assignments will be posted after scratches are entered.  Copies of heat and lane assignments will be given to coaches and made available for parents.  Swimmers should report directly to the blocks for their events.  Coaches are responsible for ensuring their swimmers are in the correct heat and lane.  There will be no bullpen.

ELIGIBILITY

All swimmers must be 2003 registered swimmers with New England Swimming.  Swimmers may register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Rd., Needham, MA 02492.  Age eligibility is determined by the age of the swimmer the first day of the meet and must be shown on the entry form.  All coaches on deck must be registered with USA Swimming and have their coach membership cards visible while on deck.

ENTRY INFORMATION

No swimmer may enter more than nine individual events.  Relay only swimmers are allowed but must be listed on the entry.  Relay entries are limited to two teams per event per club.

Entries must be received by Tuesday, February 4, 2003.  Entries earlier than that will be greatly appreciated.  Electronic entries, whether by email or on computer disk are appreciated and are less expensive (according to NES policy).  Please submit an .sd3 file (LSA Team) or .cl2 (Hy-Tek Team Manager) file.  Seed cards are not required.  Verification codes are required with the entries.

Email Entries:  Attach the .cl2 or .sd3 file to the email message.  A zipped version of the entry tends to work better than just attaching the regular entry file.  If sending entries via email, the entry fees and a paper copy of the entry, along with the entry cover sheet must be received by Saturday, February 8, 2003.

Other Entries:  United States Postal Service Overnight Mail is the preferred paper mailing method.  If Overnight Mail is used, indicate that the package be delivered even if no one is there to sign for it.  No fax entries will be accepted.  All fees must accompany the entry.

Entry times must be achieved between February 16, 2002 and February 4, 2003.  Times achieved in a 25 meter pool must be multiplied by .9049 to convert to yards.  Swimmers can also qualify at the Bronze Classic.  Send an entry by email or USPS by Tuesday February 11.  If sent by email, the hard copy and check are due by Wednesday February 12 in order to be accepted.

SCRATCHES

Coaches must scratch swimmers by the end of the first 30 minutes of each warm-up session.
