Site: Greenwood Memorial Pool, 69 Park St., Gardner, MA 01440
Facility: 5-lane 25-yard indoor pool with non-turbulent lane lines. Seating is available above the pool.
Timing: Timing will be manual. 2
timers per team, per session would be appreciated.
Entries: Entries must be completed and received no sooner than Friday,
November 8, 2002 and no later than Friday January 24, 2003. Submit entries on the enclosed N.E.
Standard entry form or HY-TEK entry on diskette with a hard copy printout
included. There will be no refunds or
telephone entries after the above entry deadline. Make checks payable to: Greenwood Memorial Swim Club. Mail completed entry forms and checks to: Greenwood Memorial Pool, C/O Anne Monette,

IcCreamldy@aol.com. Seed times
must be submitted in yards. The Cost
for individual events is $ 3.50 ($4.00 hand entry). Relays are $10.00. Time
permitting, we will offer time trials (sanctioned as NE-03-19a) for an additional
$5.00 fee.
Eligibility: All swimmers must be 2003 registered swimmers with United States
Swimming. New England swimmers may
register with Mary Riddell, 20 Cleveland Rd., Needham, MA 02192.
Cuts: In the event of instant over-subscription on the first
registration date (11/8/02) we will make cuts by lottery and notify all teams
immediately of the results. Otherwise,
we will make cuts by date of receipt, except for the 500 free Open and 400 IM
Open events where we will make cuts based on official seedtimes. Notification
of cuts will be made as soon as possible but no later than Monday, January 27,
2003.
Awards: Ribbons will be awarded for the first eight places.
Admissions: $1.00 per adult per session.
Programs: $ 2.00 per session.
Refreshments: Full concession available for all days.
Directions:
From
the North and South: Follow Route 128, I-495 or
I-190 to Route 2 West. Take the first
Gardner exit (#23). At the end of the
ramp, which feeds into a rotary, take the first right underneath a railroad
bridge, following the sign to 140. At
the first traffic light, turn right onto Elm St. Follow until you come to another rotary. Enter the rotary and exit it at 9
o’clock. This is Central Street, which
you will follow until it forks left. You
bear to the right at the fork, which is Park Street. The pool is on the right.
From
the East: Take Route 2 West and follow
above directions
From
the West: Take
Route 2 East; get off at the second Gardener exit (23). The end of the ramp
feeds into a rotary. Exit rotary at 9 o’clock underneath a railroad bridge,
then follow directions from North and South.
Format: Timed Finals. Time trials
will be held after each session (time permitting).
Rules: 2003 US Swimming will govern all competition. The referee’s
decisions by the will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30
minutes of the swim heat being protested.
Special
Instructions: Swimmers must abide by the directions of the
marshals. No swimmer is allowed to
enter the pool or participate in warm-ups unless under the direct supervision
of a USS registered coach. All swimmers
who do not have a USS coach present must report to the meet referee. All swimmers must enter the pool at the
starting end of the pool. No diving or
racing starts are permitted except in announced one-way sprint lanes designated
for diving. No jumping into the pool is
permitted at any time during the meet.
